President Muhammadu Buhari meets with service chiefs

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, held a meeting with Nigeria’s Service Chiefs in a bid to assess the security situation in the country.

The meeting, which held at the Defence House in Abuja, was centred on the fight against Boko Haram and constant crude oil theft in the Niger Delta, ThisDay reports.

The meeting, which was also attended by Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, is said to have lasted for more than two hours.

“Since he (Buhari) was inaugurated as our Commander-in-Chief, this is the first time that we are formally meeting him to give a general security briefing on the country, and that went very well; we have been able to provide insight into the security situation in Nigeria,” Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin said while briefing State House correspondents on the meeting.
