President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has met with two people he imprisoned while he was Nigeria’s military ruler.

Buhari met with journalist, Tunde Thompson, who he jailed in 1984, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.

Thompson was one of the reporters whom the President-elect threw in prison for violating Decree 4, which provided for the punishment of journalists who published any report which was capable of bringing the government into disrepute.

Buhari also recently met with former Governor of the Old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo in Abuja.

Nwobodo was the fourth civilian governor who was sentenced to jail for fraud during the Buhari military era.
