Death toll now stands at 11 as 72-yr old dies in South Korea

South Korean health authorities announced that a 72-year old woman died of the deadly virus after contracting it from a hospital in capital,  Seoul, which was the centre of the outbreak.

South Korea reports 13 new cases, 2 more deaths

11 people have now so far died from the deadly Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in South Korea.

South Korean health authorities announced that a 72-year old woman died of the deadly virus after contracting it from a hospital in capital,  Seoul, which was the centre of the outbreak.

126 people have so far been infected by the deadly virus, and over 2,500 people have been placed under quarantine even as there were reports that 2 hospitals that treated people with the infection in South Korea have been sealed off.

This is the deadliest outbreak of MERS outside the Middle East since it was first diagnosed in Saudi Arabia in 2012.
