Dont take law into your hands, AUN President says

The AUN president  stated this in a press statement made available to journalists in Yola,where she also tasked security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The  president of American university of Nigeria Yola, ( AUN) who is also the chairperson of Adamawa peace initiative, Prof. Margie Ensugn, has called on the people of Adamawa state,especially the 4 communities recently attacked by some suspected fulani herdmens  in Gerei local government  area not to take law into their hands but allow securityagencies to fish out the perpetrators of these attacked.

The AUN president  stated this in a press statement made available to journalists in Yola,where she also tasked security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to justice. While,commiserating with those who lost their relatives and loved ones in the attacked,she condemned  this act describing it as most unfortunate and highly regretable.

She expressed concerned that,these brutal murder is coming at a time when insurgency has left many people homeless and its legacy of mutual suspicion among member of the same community,a problem which AUN- API in partnership with other local and international mediation groups are working to resolved.

The Adamawa peace initiative also urged security agencies to ensure that, the tension brew as a result of the attacked did not spread to other parts of the state,and called for improved security in all parts of Adamawa.

Even as she urged the people of the state to lived with one another in peace and imbibe the culture of mutual tolerance,respect and love to one another in this difficult times.

It will be recalled that,there was an attacked last sunday suspected to be carried out by some suspected fulani herdsmen in 4 villages of koh community in Gerei local government of Adamawa state,leading to the killings of a police DPO and many civilians causalities .
