Barely 15 hours after combat-ready policemen laid siege on the Kano residence of former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the state Command has withdrawn its men, Vanguard reports.

It was gathered that the police personnel were withdrawn after complaints were lodged to higher authorities.

Police had said they sealed off the property, located on Lugard road, to “prevent illegal assembly.”

The former governor was said to be planning to host a mass wedding by the Kwankwaasiyya movement.
