Vanguard reports that Justice A.I Allagoa affirmed Ikpeazu’s election today, July 8, 2016.

A case of alleged forgery of tax documents was filed against Governor Ikpeazu by Friday Nwosu.

The Judge also dismissed the case, adding that the tax documents were not forged.

This will put the legal and political arguments following the governorship tussle in Abia state.

Justice Okon Abang, in a ruling on June 27, 2016, ordered Ikpeazu to vacate office.

Following the court ruling, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued a return certificate to Uche Ogah as the new Governor of Abia state.

Ogah’s swearing in was however stalled when the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Theresa Uzoukwu, allegedly fled for her safety.

Justice Uzoukwu debunked reports saying she did not go into hiding, describing the report as the handwork of politicians who do not have the good of Abia state at heart.
