910 IDPs get relief materials

Ibrahim said that the items, which include bags of grains, sugar, spaghetti, clothing materials, among others, would enable the IDPs to observe the Ramadan with ease.

The international medical organisation said the children died in the IDP camp in Bama where more than 10,00 people have arrived since April 2018.

The first batch of 120 beneficiaries received their consignments at Mararaba-Jos, a settlement situated on the Kaduna-Zaria Road in Kaduna State.

The Chairperson of the organisation, Rabi Ibrahim, said that the beneficiaries were widows, widowers and indigent persons displaced by insurgents in the North-East.

A breakdown of the beneficiaries showed that 120 people were currently at Rafin Guza, 270 people in Kyauta village, 100 people in Hayin Damani, while 300 people were in Jere/Rijina communities in Kaduna State.

Ibrahim appealed to wealthy Nigerians to extend similar items to the needy persons to ease the pangs of the economic downturn.

She appealed to various levels of governments to deploy teachers to the NGO's orphanage nursery and primary schools to enable the kids to receive quality education.

The chairperson also urged the Federal Government to deploy members of the National Youth Service Corp to assist the 74 pupils in the schools situated at Mararaba-Jos settlement near Kaduna.
