APC chieftain says gas dependence caused energy crisis

He said that the country’s dependence on gas for power generation had led to energy crisis

Mbachu made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Owerri on Sunday.

He said that the country’s dependence on gas for power generation had led to energy crisis, adding that the only solution was to look for alternative means of power generation.

He stressed that it was high time the country diversified its energy source.

Mbachu advised government to focus attention on generating power through solar and coal, which, according to him, is a sure way of meeting the 10, 000 megawatts target by the end of 2019.
