The Enugu State Police Command has denied reports that Boko Haram members were arrested in the state.

The alleged arrest was announced by the Department of State Services (DSS) via a statement on Sunday, August 30, 2015.

However, the spokesperson for the state police, Ebere Amaraizu, told Punch that the command was not aware of any investigation or arrest linked with the terrorist sect.

“There is no case of Boko Haram investigated by the command, neither was there any arrest by the command,” Amaraizu said.

“Meanwhile, the command is relying on the already established proactive measures which have so far kept the state and its environs safe,” he added.

The DSS had also said that it arrested more suspected terrorists in Lagos, Kano, Plateau and Gombe states.
