Senator buys flying boats, buses to ease constituents' transportation problem
Bassey disclosed that N2 billion had been provided for the Calabar-Itu highway project in this year’s budget.

Bassey told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Calabar that communities in Biase and Odukpani local government areas benefited from the gesture.
``During our campaigns in Biase and Odukpani local government areas, I discovered that the people in the riverine communities experienced difficulties in accessing other communities in the neighborhood.
``The people also complained of the hardship they faced in transporting their agricultural produce to the market and the urban areas due to lack of boats.
``I have also provided four buses to be distributed to some other communities in the hinterland to assist them in moving around, ‘’ he said.
The senator also said that he had included some projects, including sinking boreholes, construction of rural feeder roads and building of vocational centre in his 2016 constituency projects.
The senator also said that N6 billion was provided for the Calabar-Ikom-Ogoja highway in the budget.
