This is contained in a statement signed by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.
Usman said two of the suspects were arrested at Badiko village in Toro Local Government Area, ``following a tip-off by well- meaning Nigerians”.
He said the soldiers had also recovered a bag containing N439,000 and some personal effects from the suspects.
"Preliminary investigation shows that the amount was their share from a paid ransom of a recent kidnap incident,” the Army Spokesman said.
He said the other suspect, Jibrin Dakam, was caught by the troops at Magama, also in Toro Local Government Area, on the same day.
The Army spokesman said preliminary investigation confirmed that Dakam escaped from their den at Jenge following the military Operation FOREST KUNAMA at Lame-Burra forest, recently.
"It was further confirmed that he frequently supplied alcohol and other stimulants to the kidnappers,’’ he said.
Usman also disclosed that troops deployed at "Kano 2" checkpoint near Durum, in Bauchi Local Government Area, of the same unit, arrested a suspected armed bandit named Adamu Saleh.
He said Saleh was found to be in possession of eight rounds of 7.62mm (Special), two cell phones and local charms.
"All the suspects are being interrogated before their eventual handing over to other relevant security agencies’’ the Army spokesman said.
