Ex-Kogi State Governor dies at 69

Akakirya passed away in an Abuja hospital on Monday, June 22, 2015, a family member, Peter Lassa said.

 

Former Military Administrator of Kogi State, Bzigu Akakirya has died at the age of 69.

Akakirya passed away in an Abuja hospital on Monday, June 22, 2015, a family member, Peter Lassa said.

The deceased was born in Borno State on July 20, 1949 and was the Military Administrator of Kogi from 1996 to 1998.

He is survived by a wife and children.

Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada, in a condolence message, described Akakirya’s death as a sad one for the state and the entire country.
