DPR warns marketers against hoarding, adulteration of petroleum products

According to him, DPR offices nationwide have increased surveillance to stop hoarding and diversion of products.

DPR shall punish offenders

The DPR Director, Mr Mordecai Ladan, gave the warning in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

“The unwholesome activities of some petroleum product marketers have come to the attention of the DPR."

“They indulge in hoarding and diversion of petroleum products at their various truck-holding terminals across the country."

“They also manipulate their retail dispensing pumps at the filling stations to the detriment of unsuspecting buyers."

“DPR reiterates its commitment to ensure that marketers comply fully with oil and gas business best practices."

“Consequently, marketers are hereby warned to desist from such sharp practices and deliver products lifted from the depots to designated filling stations."

“This they should do within the stipulated one day to three day grace period, depending on the point of discharge.’’

The DPR director assured the public that government would maintain adequate daily sufficiency of products, intensify efforts to revamp and enhance the performance of local refineries to bridge identified gaps.
