Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked the current Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba.

Reuben Abati, Special Adviser to President on Media and Publicity disclosed the news via his official Twitter page @abati1990 at 01:24PM, Tuesday, April 21, 2015.
Abati further stated that Abba has been replaced by Deputy Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase with immediate effect. Arase will act IGP with immediate effect
Previous reports had stated that Jonathan was unhappy with the IGP over alleged security and protocol breaches.
