Governor’s bank account will remain blocked till November 7

Ayo Fayose, Ekiti state Governor (PremiumTimes)

This is as a result of the adjournment of the suit filed against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by Fayose.

The anti-graft agency blocked Fayose’s Zenith bank account in June 2016.

Presenting his case before the judge right before the case was adjourned, the Ekiti Governor’s lawyer, Mike Ozehkome said “My Lord, my client’s accounts were frozen in June and we are now in September, making a total of four months altogether.

“ As far as we know, the principle of exparte order which is meant to last for a while has been grossly abused here.

“This is because as you can see, my client has been unjustly subjected to both psychological and mental torture, as if to say judgment must come before trial.”

Ozehkome also asked the court to order that N5b be paid to Fayose by the EFCC for damages.

Fayose alsosaid that he is not moved by the allegations levelled against him by the EFCC.
