Police authorities confirm replacement of Lagos CP

The new Lagos Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgar has been ordered to resume at his post with immediate effect.

It had emerged on Wednesday, August 30, the Inspector-General of Police, Idris Ibrahim appointed Imohimi D. Edgar as the new Commissioner of Police while Owoseni was reassigned.

But Owoseni denied his redeployment, stating that he had not received any directive about a new police commissioner for Lagos.

However, the police IG on Thursday ordered Edgar to resume as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said Edgar has already taken over the police affairs of the state.

"Ag/CP Edgar Imohimi has taken over and resumed in official capacity as the Commissioner of Police Lagos State Police Command with immediate effect," the statement said.

"Formal handing-and taking-over activities are going on smoothly between the former and the present Lagos State CP."
