A spokesman for Public Health Wales confirmed the suspected case of Ebola saying:
“Obviously the tests are being treated as urgent but this is a possible case. There is a procedure to be followed and rightly so and obviously that has to be paramount.”
“Procedures are being followed within the hospital to make sure that the patient is isolated and protective clothing will be worn by staff until such a time the diagnosis is confirmed or otherwise,” the spokesperson added.
The UK diagnosed its first case of Ebola in 39-year-old nurse Pauline Cafferkey who contracted the disease in Sierra Leone and is said to be in critical condition at London's Royal Free Hospital.
