Former NSA is trying to hide his crimes – FG

Dasuki had, on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, told the Abuja Federal High Court, through his lawyer, that he was not ready to face trial.

Former NSA, Sambo Dasuki appears in court on money laundering charges on December 14, 2015

The FG made its position known via a counter-affidavit filed before the court in response to the former NSA’s application to have the case discharged.

The counter-affidavit reads:

“That the respondent (FG) is willing and ready to proceed to prove the case with the order of this court at the last hearing on January 20, 2016 fixing the case for definite hearing.

“That I know that the applicant is not interested in facing his trial before this court. That I also know that the applicant is averse to general public knowing the magnitude of the wrongs against the Nigeria state he has been charged with in court.”

Dasuki’s lawyer, Joseph Daudu told the court that his client wouldn’t be ready for trialuntil the FG allows him to enjoy the constitutional right of bail.

Dasuki had been granted bail by Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the same court in November 2015 but was rearrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) after being released from Kuje Prison.

The case has been adjourned to March 3.
