Osun records 1st coronavirus case, Lagos cases rise to 30

Coronavirus cases have now been detected in eight states in the country.

Lagos has recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in Nigeria [NCDC]

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced early on Wednesday, March 25, that Osun has recorded its first case.

The number of cases in Lagos have also now risen to 30, the highest in the country.

"Both cases are returning travellers to Nigeria in the last 7 days," the agency said.

Coronavirus cases have now been detected in eight states in the country - Lagos (30), the Federal Capital Territory (8), Ogun (3), Ekiti (1), Oyo (1), Edo (1), Bauchi (1), and Osun (1).

Two cases have recovered and been discharged, while the nation's first death was recorded on Monday, March 23.
