‘President’s enemies are very close to him,’ says Senator

President Muhammadu Buhari

Senator Misau stated this on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, while reacting to a letter by the attorney general of the federation, Abubakar Malami exempting why Customs boss, Hameed Ali from appearing before the Senate today.

Senator Misau said prior to President Buhari’s return from his medical vacation in London, there were no attacks in any part of the country.

The lawmaker alleged that President Buhari’s associates do not want him to succeed on his mandate to Nigerians.

His words:

“If you look at the kind of advice people close to the government are giving the president, you will find out that they are trying as much as possible to distract the president from working.

“Over 50 days ago, the President went for medical vacation and the vice president was made acting president for 49 days. Did you hear about Niger Delta Avengers, Fulani herdsmen, media attack or tension in the country?

“Just two week of the president’s return, the people surrounding the president are creating tension in the country. I want Nigerians to know that the enemies of this government are very close to the government and the president.

“This tension that they are creating is just to distract the president from concentrating on his good plans for the Nigerian people.

“It is important for the people to know that the enemies of this government are within the circle of the presidency. I want to call on Nigerians to begin to pray for President Buhari because those that do not want him to succeed are very close to him.

“Look at the kind of letter that is coming from the attorney general of the federation? Somebody that is supposed to bring peace and stability between the executive and legislature is trying to create a problem between both arms of government.

“If the attorney general can write this type of letter to the Senate, then imagine the kind of advice he will give president Buhari.

“Therefore, the people surrounding the president are his enemies,’ he added.

The lawmaker pledged the commitment of the Senate to the success of President Buhari’s administration adding that he would continue to expose those who want the APC-led government to fail.

Similarly, Senator Shehu Sani has alleged that friends of President Buhari are making money from the humanitarian crisis in the North-East.

Senator Sani said that investigations revealed that most public office holders award contracts without due process
