The ceremony took place at the State House in Abuja, exactly one month after the chiefs were appointed.

Buhari is said to have given the new military heads three months to end the Boko Haram insurgency in the country.
The new service chiefs are Chief Of Defence Staff, Abayomi Olonishakin; Chief Of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai; Chief Of Naval Staff, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas and Chief Of Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar.
