President asks NASS for permission to amend 2016 budget

Buhari said that the government needs to generate more funds due to the destruction of oil facilities in the Niger Delta.

According to Buhari, changes need to be made to some line items in order to resolve pending financial emergencies.

He said further that the government needs to generate more funds due to the destruction of oil facilities in the Niger Delta.

“The most viable option now is the virement of appropriated funds from heads or sub heads …,” Buhari said in a letter addressed to Senate President, Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.

Buhari added that funds needed to be urgently injected into security, intervention programs, education and services.
