President appoints BoI risk manager to spearhead economic reconstruction

This was disclosed in Abuja on Wednesday, August 24, in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr Mahmoud Isa-Dutse.

According to the statement, "Oseni’s appointment which takes immediate effect is made under a management agreement between the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Industry (BoI).’’

Until his appointment, Oseni was a General Manager and Chief Risk Manager at the BoI.

Oseni's mandate among others is to reposition NERFUND and to ensure that all outstanding indebtedness are cleared.

NERFUND was created in 1989, with the primary objectives of increasing the quantum of goods and services available for local consumption and export, providing needed employment, expanding production base and adding value to the economy.

Oseni is a PhD holder in business and applied economics from Olabisi Onabanjo University. He was an associate lecturer at Pan-Atlantic University, where he taught ‘New Business Venture Creation and Entrepreneurship Management.'

He has also lectured at Obafemi Awolowo University and the University of Lagos.
