‘Nigeria will prevail over terrorism,’ President says

President Muhammadu Buhari also said that Nigeria's capacity to end terrorism is greater than the threat it faces.

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians of his administration’s resolve to combat terrorism in the country.

Buhari also said that the nation’s capacity to end terrorism is greater than the threat it faces.

The President made the comments on Thursday, June 18, 2015, in a series of tweets.

He said:

“I mourn every single death of a Nigerian as a result of terrorism. That is why security is my number one priority.”

“Our efforts to strengthen security cooperation with our neighbours & adjust our own response to Boko Haram will yield results very soon. Our resolve and capacity to end terrorism is much greater than the threat we face. Nigeria will prevail.”

Meanwhile, Chad has carried out air strikes on Boko Haram camps in Nigeria in retaliation for two suicide bombings which killed 33 of its citizens in Ndjamena on Monday, June 15.
