Boko Haram member says Chibok girls are ‘learning to fight’

The militants are said to enjoy bragging to their new prisoners that the Chibok girls surrendered, converted to Islam and married fighters.

A young girl who escaped from Boko Haram has said that the terroists told stories about the abducted Chibok girls.

They told me the Chibok girls have a new life where they learn to fight. They said we should be like them and accept Islam,” 15-year-old escapee, Abigail John told The Associated Press.

Abigail was one of three girls who were interviewed and she said that the Boko Haram members were obsessed with the Chibok girls and often narrated how they had whipped and slapped the abducted girls until they submitted.

The over 200 girls were kidnapped on April 14, 2014 and have now spent more than 300 days in captivity.

The recent trend of attacks by female suicide bombers has given rise to fears that the girls might have been forcefully recruited to join in Boko Haram’s sinister agenda.
