The Nigerian military has recovered the town of Baga in Borno State from Boko Haram, authorities say.

Baga, which is on the border with Chad, was captured by the insurgents on January 3.

The town also houses the headquarters of a joint multinational force consisting of troops from Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon.
