Mallam “Duduwalle” Abubakar Umar, 43, arrived Bauchi on Saturday, May 2, and he is en route Abuja by foot to meet the President-elect.
Abubakar told newsmen in Bauchi that he is carrying over 300 request letters for Buhari, which were given to him by different people at different locations has he trekked through the North East sub-region.
According to him, most of the letters contained requests urging the president-elect to address the problem of insecurity and re-build the sub-region.
He explained that his walk to Abuja is also to identify with notable Adamawa indigenes, such as the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar; Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha; and wife of the president-elect, Hajiya Aisha Buhari.
He said his main objective for the trekking, is to further encourage the President-elect to carry on with his plans for Nigeria, especially the North East sub-region, ravaged by insurgency.
Umar has since continued his journey to Abuja on foot, after his brief stopover in Bauchi.
