Seun Kuti submits his latest album to the Grammys as he seeks a nomination and hopefully a win.

On Saturday, October 27, 2018, he posted the album cover of his album with the words "FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION! 61ST GRAMMY AWARDS. BEST WORLD MUSIC ALBUM."
Seun Kuti went on to write "All my Grammy voting friends. Y’all know the vibes " as the caption of his Instagram post.
If successful, his album will be nominated in the Best World Music Album category. His brother Femi Kuti has been nominated four times in this category but has not yet won it.

Black Times was released on March 2018 and it garnered rave reviews.
According to Pulse Music, "Seun Kuti is changing things and improving on arrangements. On October 14, 2018, Seun Kuti called out Kanye West for associating himself with his father, Fela. Seun's reaction was based on a video earlier posted by Kanye West where he said the spirit of Fela, Bob Marley, and 2Pac flows in him.
