Hello folks. Welcome to Pulse Music's live commentary of The Headies 2014. This year's edition is taking place at the Eko Hotel and Suites.

Co-hosts of tonight's ceremony are the Toke Makinwa and Basket Mouth. As usual there is going to be a lot of controversy, drama, high profile wins, lovely performances, and great entertainment tonight!

  • 8:10pm - And we are live! Celebrities have started trooping in. Several have been spotted on the red carpet. So far we have seen
  • 8:12pm - This year let's see if the celebs come out in time, and allow the organizers start the event at the stipulated time.
  • 8:18pm - People with the regular tickets and VIP tickets are already at the venue.

  • 2:30am - Funny stat here. Both Don Jazzy and Cobhams Asuquo have won awards tonight but not as producers but rather artistes. Interesting.

  • 3:05am - Oh oh. Patoranking scores a hatrick. Ladies and gentlemen he is the winner of the 2014 Next Rated Category!!!!!!! Wha Ya Say!
  • 3:07am - Patoranking sharing his story of how he sold rat poisons. He also says he was once a brick layer. Touching.
  • 3:11am - Veteran dancehall act
  • 3:16am - It's time for the Hall of Fame Award. KWAM 1 who is presenting this award won it last year. The inductee this year is Sir Victor Uwaifo.
  • 3:21am - Good morning if you are just joining us. Four more categories to go before Headies 2014 is over.
  • 3:33am - Rapper
  • 3:35am - The African Artiste of the Year goes to
  • 3:38am - It's two for Reekado Banks as he wins the Rookie of the Year category.
  • 3:42am - Two years in a row now.
  • 3:45am - Pop star
  • 3:54am - Song of the year...but of course 'Aye' by Davido.
  • 3:58am - Album of the year...Baddest Guy Ever Liveth by Olamide. Woah! That's a huge one. Second of the night.
  • 4:00am - Who will win the Artiste of the Year category? Meanwhile Olamide is performing. The crowd loves him.
  • 4:00am - Looks like a straight duel between Olamide and Davido for Artiste of the Year.
  • 4:07 am - And the Artiste of the Year is Davido!!!!!!!!!!!!
