Jeremy to exit 'The Vampire Diaries' show

Steven R. McQueen, who plays Elena’s little brother, Jeremy, will be exiting ‘The Vampire Diaries' TV series.

'The Vampire Diaries' regular, Steven R. McQueen, who plays Jeremy Gilbert, Elena' little brother, will be officially exiting the popular TV series in it's 614th episode.

The character Jeremy has left town severally, and even died at a point, but according to show's executive producer, Julie Plec, the character is really saying goodbye this time.

“It’s time for him to go out and live his life and we’re actually going to say goodbye to Steven R. McQueen as a series regular. He’s growing up and moving on. He will be out living a real life.”

“We’re in the third act of our storytelling of the show. Everything that we’re doing is moving towards the end. Over the course of the next few years, we will need to start having the characters make choices about what they want with their lives and say goodbye to some people. It’s all part of moving toward the end, however long that takes.” - Plec says.
