'Selma' director won't be directing 'Black Panther'
Contrary to earlier reports, the first major black superhero movie won’t be directed by 'Selma' director, Ava DuVernay.

In June, Wrap reported that the Selma director would be directing a superhero film scheduled for a 2018 release, making her the first black woman to direct a major superhero movie.
DuVernay confirmed that she won't be directing the upcoming superhero film. She revealed this while speaking with Essence Magazine.
According to her, she considered directing Marvel’s Black Panther movie, but changed her mind along the line.

“I think I’ll just say we had different ideas about what the story would be. I love that they reached out to me." she said.
