According to him, he was excited to be honoured by his own people as he poured accolades on his hometown. While a former BBNaija housemate was been given a reception, another escaped death by the whiskeys.
2. Soma involved in near-death car accident
Soma of BBNaija season 2 had a lot to be thankful for as he narrowly escaped what would have been a tragic end to his rising career. The multi-talented singer made this known on Monday, July 23, 2018, via his Instagram page where he shared a video from the accident scene. According to him, this was a close shave to death.
"Just want to thank God for my life... this was a close shave, I can't die now..." he captioned the video.
3. Femi Kuti denies attacking Charly Boy's gay rights activism
It is no longer news that Charly Boy's daughter, Dewy shocked everyone a few weeks ago when she came out gay but what is news now the conflicts it has generated back in Nigeria. A popular blogger had come out to say veteran singer, Femi Kuti had called out Charly Boy for becoming an advocate for the LGBT community. In a swift response, Femi Kuti released a press statement denying the news.
4. Princess [BBNaija] gets car gift on her birthday
The season 3 edition housemate, couldn't hide her joy as she took to her Instagram page where she posted a video to share the good news. "And I couldn’t breathe... I was completely speechless ss, couldn’t keep calm ," she captioned the video.

6. Timaya says he can allow his daughter become a stripper
A celebrity who said something quite controversial during the week was Timaya. The Reggae dance hall king, while granting an interview with Vibes Magazine, said he would allow his daughter to become a stripper if she so desires.
"If today she tells me, daddy, I want to be a stripper, that’s her life. I brought her into this world. I just need to make her understand what is good and bad, what is right and wrong. Sometimes what you think is wrong for the child can be good for the child," he said.
7. Ycee calls ACP Yomi Shognle ''Hot Pile of Trash"
Looks like a week won't go by without a celebrity calling out Assistant Commissioner of Police, Yomi Shogunle. The latest celebrity to take the senior police officer to the cleaners is Ycee.
The rapper was probably triggered by comments made by the senior police officer on Twitter. Shogunle had tweeted about the #EndSARS in a very mockery manner.
"186 million Retweets to #EndSARS. Oya let’s go!" he tweeted. However, this didn't go done well with Ycee who clapped back at the officer for his comments.
"You’re a hot pile of trash. I pray God blesses you with long life to see an effective Nigerian police force without the likes of officers like you Sir," Ycee tweeted.
