The singer rejected the accusation made by Amina Mohammed, concerning him turning down an invitation to perform at the launch of Ogoni land clean-up.

Timi Dakolo

Mohammed, in a Twitter comment posted on Sunday, June 5, 2016, thanked everyone who contributed towards the success of the launch, but expressed regret over Dakolo's decline of the invitation to attend.

She wrote, "A big thank you to all who contributed to the success of Ogoni cleanup launch. I only wish Timi Dakolo accepted our invitation to perform".

In his response to the comment, the soul singer explained that there is another explanation to the accusation made by the minister.

He also insisted that he loves his country, despite what is being said about him.

"I LOVE MY COUNTRY...I LOVE NIGERIA...I DONT HAVE TO PROVE IT..."

"THERE IS ALWAYS ANOTHER SIDE OF THE TRUTH... ANOTHER SIDE OF THE STORY ...."

The clean-up launch is a Federal Government response to the call to repair Ogoni land and its environs after years of neglect and damage caused by oil drilling in the area.
