Actor doubts Bill Cosby's innocence in serial rape scandal

Jackson, who worked as a camera stand-in for Bill Cosby for three years in the 1980s, said on Bravo’s 'Watch What Happens Live' on Thursday with Meredith Viera: "People with power take advantage of people."

Samuel L. Jackson has finally aired his opinion on the ongoing sexual assault sandal of legendary comedian, Bill Cosby.

The veteran Hollywood icon said on Bravo’s 'Watch What Happens Live' on Thursday (Febraury 19): "I wish he would say something."

Jackson, who worked for three years as a camera stand-in for Cosby in the 1980s didn't say Cosby was or wasn't guilty of allegedly rapping more than twenty women in his career.

However, he told the host, Meridith Viera,

"Popular opinion would say, 'Where there’s smoke, there’s fire'. But, I mean, I can’t make a judgment about it... I mean, I make my judgments because I have a daughter, I have a wife that I love. I have a lot of women in my life, and I know, you know, women are vulnerable to society. And people with power take advantage of people", according to philly.com.

Meanwhile, Eddie Murphy, who was making his return to SNL for the first time in 30 years, had been asked by writers to play Cosby, but decided against it because 'he didn't want to kick a man when he's down'.

Cosby, through his lawyer, thanked the 'Welcome To America' star for not mocking him on Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary show.

He said, on Thursday, February 19, "I am very appreciative of Eddie and I applaud his actions.”

The number of women who have accused Cosby, 77, of sexually assaulting them is now over 30. Cosby is yet to directly addressed the allegations.
