"Domestic Violence Is Unacceptable!"

The Oscar winner tells her fellow stars that in this fight, action speaks better than words!

Hollywood actress Salma Hayek has urged other celebrities to join her in the fight against domestic violence not just in the States, but also around the world.

Speaking at TheWrapPower Women's Breakfast in Beverly Hills, California on Wednesday, the 48-year-old star talked emotionally about her work on behalf of women in front of 150 Hollywood female executives.

'If you want to stop violence in the world it has to start in the home," she said. 'If we can win this war, we can win the war against violence.'

The Mexican actress looked chic and powerful wearing a sleeveless LBD styled with a matching cardigan and shoulder bag. Salma displayed her slim physique in a knee-length black dress with a pair of strappy high heels as she joined TheWrap's Sharon Waxman who moderated the discussion.

However, she said she didn't want her status as a celebrity to hinder her passion of raising awareness on domestic violence.

"Sometimes you do more awareness by being aware of yourself and living in the presence of this awareness than by talking until you die. I don't come from a background of domestic violence, but I think it's incredibly important." she stated.

The mother-of-one styled her dark locks in layered curls and completed her look with a silver and gold choker necklace. She ended by saying 'I rather live my activism instead of talk about it' … meaning "action is far better than words"!
