'My Dos And Don'ts If I Were Trey Songz' - Tolu

"I would never objectify ladies. Most artistes nowadays objectify women to get more ratings, sales and bigger deals but I feel like its over-flogged"

In keeping with our tradition of providing premium entertainment and lifestyle content, Pulse is excited to announce the launch of our Pulse VIP blogger series.

Our featured VIP blogger is Tolu and he'll be sharing on life as a Nigerian entertainer...and his uncanny resemblance to Trey Songz!

"Personally I don't see the resemblance but I am deeply flattered that fans have likened me to him ...but if I were to really entertain that for a bit, and answer the question... 'If I were TREY SONGZ, What will be my dos and don'ts...?' Here is something..."

  • I would – like Trey is currently doing with his Angel network initiative – to start my give-back campaign. It's great to give back to someone who truly needs.
  • I would show all my female fans – a.k.a
  • I would surprise a #prettyone once a month with my presence and a special gift. Fans always feel Trey is unreachable but I will want to be there... to mingle and dine and...lol.
  • I may also want to start a production network to inspire younger artistes and help them believe in their dreams. It's one thing to be blessed with a talent and another to be groomed. I would love to bring up talents like someone else did for me.
  • I would love to stand for a course which will not only better my community but also build my nation. Nigeria will be blessed to have their own 'Trey!”
  • I wouldn't act in a way to be perceived as proud. Not that the real Trey is proud but I find that as foundation of failure.
  • I would never objectify ladies. Most artistes nowadays objectify women to get more ratings, sales and bigger deals but I feel like its over-flogged. Not that I won't be joining the band wagon but I won't want to capitalize on it!
  • I would never allow myself to be involved in a scandal. I'm human and could make mistakes but if there's one thing I pray to God about is to stay clean from the 'horrible' tabloids. So help me God!
  • I wouldn't get involved in a scuffle with the law. I have watched stars get their careers and lives messed up because of one legal battle or the other. My own kind of 'Trey' will have to stay out of the courtroom for the longest possible time. I just want to do music... in a studio not in a jail cell!
  • I wouldn't do drugs or... as they call it now, crack! Whitney was right 'Crack is whack!' It kills a man not build him. I wouldn't want to seen smoking weed or acting 'funny' in public or on stage. For me it's very embarrassing and shameful. Won't you all agree with me? And besides... R&B + Drugs???

Tolu would want to believe that looking like the great singer Trey Songz comes with its advantages and disadvantages but staying focus, believing in God and working extremely hard are the things to propell any great singer to greater heights!

"We don't have to depend on 'energy boosters' to be strong and relevant all the time but we have to trust our guts to get the glory... and I mean to the maximum." Tolu says!
