What's with Tiwa Savage and the Illuminati rumours?

Tiwa Savage's supposed ties to the Illuminati are just a figment of many people's overactive minds.

How and when did the rumours start? On July 22, 2016 at the One Africa Music Fest Tiwa Savage triggered the 'Illuminati' rumours when at the end of her performance she threw up the 'roc sign popularized by Jay Z. According to conspiracy theorists, the 'roc sign' ties Jay Z to the powerful cult Illuminati. Also during her performance, there were pyramid shapes showing on the screen.

These little 'easter eggs' led many to believe that Tiwa Savage has signed a deal with the devil. Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy unknowingly gave the conspiracy theorists more material when he wrote "Lol see as i nearly sit down for ground. I no want make that illuminati ram head for the wall catch me. Congrats to the First Lady of Mavin on the Rocnation management deal once again @tiwasavage. More success coming our way in GOD's name. Amen" wrote Don Jazzy on his Instagram page as he congratulated Tiwa Savage. It was a joke from Don Jazzy but some people have ran with it and spun the evil cult tale around it.

For those who do not know what the Illuminati is here is a summary. According to various sources the Illuminati is an evil cult that controls governments, countries and economies all over the globe.

It is also said to be plotting towards the New World Order. Over the years it has been rumoured that members of the Illuminati are influential and rich people. The list of members has also been said to include singers, entertainers and artistes. Yeah that's what the Illuminati gist is all about.

Last decade there were whispers in the catacombs of the Internet that the Illuminati has penetrated Hip-Hop circles and had started recruiting members for its evil plan of world domination. Some of these stars include Jay Z, Kanye West, Beyonce, Rihanna, Drake, Lady Gaga, Chris Brown etc.

Now circa 2011 rumours started popping up that some Nigerians had joined the cult. These stars are D'banj, Charly Boy, 2face Idibia, Wizkid, Davido, and Psquare. Of course there is no substantial evidence to prove that these Nigerians stars belong to any secret cult. Well it seems the latest member is Tiwa Savage.

Signing to Jay Z (who many conspiracy theorists believe is the devil advocate) makes some people seriously believe that Tiwa Savage is in cahoots with the devil. A silly rumour like this just makes a mockery of the hardwork that Tiwa Savage has put in over the last  six years.

Tiwa Savage is the biggest female act not only in Nigeria but in Africa and at this time when the Nigerian sound is hot cake in America it is only right that a singer that is as big as Tiwa Savage gets signed to a foreign label. Roc Nation is in the business of signing hot acts around the world therefore it is a no brainer that she is now in the house that Jay Z built.

Tiwa Savage is not Illuminati. People conspire to bring the devil into things when they can't fathom other people's success. Ms Savage has worked hard to get where she is right now and that has nothing to do with a man who has two horns and carries a pitchfork.
