Ibinabo was born to a father from Rivers State and an Irish mother. She studied at the University of Ibadan and delved into modelling where she emerged as the first runner up at the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant in 1991.
Later she ran a club called called Pyramid and Karaoke for 6years before taking on a professional acting career. Till date she has featured in several Nollywood movies.
Ibinabo was known to be in a romantic relationship with fellow actor Fred Amata and even have his children. The recently re-elected president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) is mother to four children and wed for the first time her old friend Uche Egbuka.
