In May, it was reported that Nollywood actor Ernest Asuzu was seen begging for money at a popular mall in Lagos.

During the encounter, Asuzu said that he is recovering from a stroke, and the President of the Actors' Guild of Nigeria Ibinabo Fiberesima had ignored him, and refused to his help his plight.

Now Ibinabo Fiberesima has responded to Asuzu's claims. In an interview with Tribune the AGN President pointed out that Azuzu has failed to pay his guild dues, and also register for the health insurance scheme.

“I have kept quiet for too long and this doesn’t mean I am a fool. I don’t go about abusing people on the pages of newspapers. If he is sick, he should take care of himself and stop begging on the streets and tell people what exactly is wrong with him. I am Ibinabo and AGN is a body. He should stop rubbishing my name on the pages of newspapers,” she said.
