Blending The Art Of Fine Dining & Networking

Pulse VIP Chronicles is a daily series that will showcase the lifestyle of the rich and famous . We'll share their stories, triumphs and snippets of their jet set life

As I write this, I remember oh-so-clearly the moist, creamy goodness that was the Casper & Gambini's cheese chocolate cake served at their buffet and networking event which held at the Landmark events centre.

The previous day, I'd been hot on the trail of the next big interview when I received an email from Good Life Stylist founder, Simi Lawoyin inviting me to a buffet luncheon and networking event hosted by Casper & Gambini's. 'An internationally franchised restaurant-cafe is bringing flair and innovative delivery to the dining experience worldwide', the invitation read, and just like that I knew I had to see things for myself.

Having just recently forayed into Nigeria despite being present in 11 countries spread across the Middle East and Africa, Lebanese-owned Casper & Gambini's was looking to get a feel of the market before diving in headlong. So what better way to do this than bring industry stakeholders including business executives, event planners and content marketers together under one roof.

Upon arrival, I instantly spotted Funmi Okigbo (owner No Surprises Event Company) of the massive afro in deep conversation with her table mates. To the other side of the hall were buffet platters, manned by waiters who were on hand to offer any needed assistance. This was getting off to a good start, I thought.

Serving a mixture of intercontinental and local Nigerian dishes, in addition to offering a wide option of salads and dessert, the good people of Casper & Gambini's were definitely out to give folks a truly fine dining experience. In the words of lead chef, Chef Peter:

"the event was put together in order to improve the Nigerian food and beverage sector and also offer variety in food presentation."

Indeed presentation was key as every platter looked like a one-way ticket to food ecstasy. Infact, I was so taken by the presentation that I mistook a platter of salad for noodles, but I digress. White fish, chinese rice, croaker fish in sauce were just some of the offerings that were popular with the crowd. The dessert table was also a hit which was a good sign seeing as there are serious plans to establish a cafe-restaurant soonest.

"We have plans to open a coffee shop soonest. We'll be roasting coffee beans which we source from Africa and America. Our desserts will also be top-notch" Chef Peter concluded.

In a similar chat owner, David Boudargham revealed that the restaurant-cafe would open its doors to customers in about 7 months. But in the meantime, folks could get a sample of the fine cuisine that is Casper & Gambini's through private catering gigs such as for weddings and events.

So there you have it food lovers, Casper & Gambini's will be coming to disturb the peace soon and you read it here first. Meantime, I highly recommend the desserts, an absolute must-have!
