Xenophobic attackers in South Africa have vowed to chase out all the foreigners from their country by the end of the weekend.

An overnight attack was carried out in the Central Business District of Johannesburg last night as several shops were looted and vehicles burnt.

While this morning, violence erupted after a crowd tried to break into a Nigerian-owned shop before the shop owners retaliated in defence. The attackers  promised to chase out all foreigners by the end of the weekend as they blame them for taking their jobs and housing.

The latest wave of xenophobic attacks in South Africa which has so far claimed 5 lives reportedly started on April 10th following comments from Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini who called on foreigners to leave the country. He however claims that his comments were distorted.
