President commends China for arresting ship with stolen Nigerian crude

President Xi said that China would increase its investment in the country’s agricultural sector in order for Nigeria to achieve food security.

 

A statement from  the Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina says President Buhari thanked President Xi Jinping of China for intercepting a ship with stolen Nigerian crude.

According to reports from ThisDay Newspapers, Buhari said  “We know your stand on corruption, and we are grateful. Your continued cooperation in curbing oil theft from Nigeria will be appreciated.”

Adding that "under its new leadership, the Nigerian military had been retrained and reequipped, and was now making steady gains against Boko Haram."

ThisDay Newspapers also reports that President Xi said that China "would increase its investment in the country’s agricultural sector in order for Nigeria to achieve food security."
