Malaysian student bags 12 years imprisonment for involvement with terrorist group
The 20-year-old Malaysian, Mohamad Azman, who had been studying in Egypt, had pleaded guilty on September 27.

Malaysian Mohamad Azman, 20, who had been studying in Egypt, had pleaded guilty on Sept. 27.
The judge, Mohamad Samah, ordered that the sentence run from Azman’s arrest on Dec. 7, 2015.
The news portal reported that Azman had been charged with entering Syria in 2014 where he became a member of the Jund al-Aqsa terrorist group, formerly a sub-unit of al-Qaeda.

Police arrested Azman when he arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport from Egypt.
