Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and current Governor, Nyesom Wike

Rivers State Governor-elect, Nyesom Wike has accused Governor Rotimi Amaechi of spending N300 million in order to stop his inauguration.

The governor-elect also condemned the use of the office of the state Attorney General by Amaechi to fulfill his purposes and those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Wike made this known on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, while addressing members of the inauguration and transition committees in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

“Amaechi has boasted that he has looted all the funds and he is threatening that if Buhari is sworn in he will deal with this and the policeman and soldier,” Wike said.

“That tells you the kind of man you are dealing with.  This is just to inform those who you who are not informed about his antics, so that you will be encouraged in the face his needless provocation,” he added.

Wike also said that Amaechi’s actions had rendered the state bankrupt and that the case filed against him by the governor had been struck out.
