Why former Gov. distanced himself from EFCC boss’ probe

Punch reports that the former Governor, was scheduled to appear before the agency.

Reports from Punch Newspapers say Akpabio’s move has destabilised the anti-graft agency, adding that the EFCC is not sure whether to go ahead with their plan to investigate the former Governor.

Punch reports that the former Governor, was scheduled to appear before the agency, based on a petition sent to it, by Leo Ekpenyong, a lawyer and indigene of Akwa Ibom State.

A top EFCC source who spoke to Punch said “We have seen what the former governor has done and we are aware that we have invited him to answer some questions relating to his tenure but we will see how the whole thing (probe of the former governor) will go.”
