Warring youths surrender arms to embrace Gov’s amnesty

However, Wike reportedly stressed that his administration had zero tolerance for cultism and kidnapping, hence arrested suspects will face the full weight of the law.

According to a report by Daily Post, a peace move was initiated in the infamous Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government area and this has resulted in notorious cultists embracing the Governor's amnesty.

The report further revealed that militant group known as ONELGA Militant Group dropped their arms, to tow the line of peace initiated by the Rivers State Governor.

Earlier, the Rivers state Governor had reiterated his offer of amnesty to cultists and kidnappers, who would submit their arms to the state security agencies and commit themselves to honest living.

Before now, the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government area is known for criminal activities that ranges from political killings to daylight robberies, kidnappings, cult clashes, vandalism, and other heinous crimes.
