DSS arrests persons who planned to steal N4.5bn from FG account

Opuiyo also described the effort as the agency's modest way of supporting the anti-corruption drive of the current administration.

Department of Security Service(DSS) operatives.

A statement issued by a representative of the agency, Mr. Tony Opuiyo, said “The DSS has arrested a group of fraudsters who had concluded plans to hack into the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System domiciled in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation in order to steal N4.5bn from the Treasury Single Account.”

Adding that “It is instructive to note that a credibility problem would have arisen over the TSA policy if these hackers had succeeded in their plan and thus lend credence to the criticisms of the policy that it ought not to have been introduced and implemented.”
