Saraki, Dogara refuse to see President over security checks in Aso Rock

The lawmakers were reportedly scheduled to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari over the 2018 appropriation bill at the villa.

According to a report by Punch, the Senate President, the Reps Speaker and some principal officers of the National Assembly numbering 20 were denied entry over the security details' insistence on security checks.

It was further reported that on Thursday night, October 26, 2017, the lawmakers angrily turned back from Aso Rock.

It was gathered that the lawmakers had met at Saraki’s house and left for the villa in a white coaster bus.

The lawmakers were reported to have all returned in Saraki’s house as the lawmakers have since been receiving calls from the Presidency to return.

Later on Thursday, Senator Saraki and Honourable Dogara returned to the Presidential Villa for a private dinner with President Buhari who apologised for the conduct of his security team.

The dinner with all principal officers of the National Assembly was rescheduled to take place in the Villa on Tuesday, October 31.
