81 Senators accompany Senate President to tribunal

The legislators who accompanied the Senate President include Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, Dino Melaye, Samuel Anyanwu and Stella Oduah.

Bukola Saraki on trial for assets declaration fraud on September 22, 2015

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has arrived at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for his trial on charges of asset declaration fraud.

Saraki was said to have been accompanied to the tribunal by 81 Senators, according to online news platform, The Cable.

The legislators who accompanied the Senate President include Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, Dino Melaye, Samuel Anyanwu and Stella Oduah.

Meanwhile, journalists have been barred from covering the tribunal’s proceedings.

CCT Chairman, Danladi Umar, is said to have instructed security personnel to ensure that no camera is allowed into the court.

The Code of Conduct Bureau brought the charges against Saraki in September after accusing him of false and anticipatory declaration of assets during his tenure as governor of Kwara State.
