Emir urges Buhari to do more to combat terrorism

Sanusi also said that the president’s expressions of sympathy after each attack are not enough.

The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to do more to stop terrorist attacks in Nigeria.

“Expressions of sympathy aren’t enough. It’s time we do something about this terrorism. We shall overcome!” the Emir said via his Twitter handle today, December 2, 2015.

Sanusi’s comments come days after 21 people were killed in a suicide bombing in Kano.

The attack, which has been claimed by Boko Haram, was aimed at an ongoing Shiite Muslim procession in the state.
